Our district serves over 500 people living with one of 43 neuromuscular diseases. MDA provides funding for clinics at the Stanford Medical Center, assistance with the purchase of communication devices, wheelchairs, and leg braces; area support groups and a summer camp in the Santa Cruz Mountains and the Sierras for children ages 6-21. MDA also funds research grants to help find the causes and cures for over forty neuromuscular diseases that affect people of ALL ages.

To Any Prospective Home Buyer or Seller,
We first met Marlene when she was hosting an open house. She made an immediate impression as someone who would be unflappable under stress, and extremely congenial ------ in other words, someone we could work with during the stressful process of buying or selling a home. So when we were ready to purchase a new home, we asked her to represent us. It was one of the best decisions we ever made. We were in a multiple offer situation, and yet she used her negotiating skills to buy the house for us below asking price!
Once we were in escrow, Marlene didn’t slow down. She micro-managed everything on our behalf, including the home inspection, pest inspection, appraisal, termite tenting, and many, many other details. And she followed up constantly, especially when work was not done to specification. She even petitioned the home warranty protection service to cover some needed repairs, and successfully petitioned another service provider for a refund.
After we bought our new home, we needed to speed up construction on our old home to get it ready for sale. Marlene was extremely helpful during the remodeling process, helping us, for example, choose paint colors and assisting us with landscaping. When the construction process and paper signing held us up one day, she didn’t flinch when we asked her if she could pick our children up at school. She did it happily, and the children enjoyed the adventure in her big – "Can we please get one like that?"- car.
When it came time to sell our home, Marlene made sure the house was in pristine condition. She advertised extensively, and we got our first offer before it was even listed! We ended up in a multiple offer situation and got more than $20K above asking price.
